Williams, CPP™, President of ASIS International Tim Williams is the Director of Global Security for Caterpillar Inc. Williams is charged with the continued growth of global security functions for the enterprise. Prior to joining Caterpillar in December 2006, Williams was the Chief Security Officer of Nortel. He also served as Vice President, Business Ethics, from 1994 to 1997. Prior to joining Nortel in 1987, Williams was Director of Corporate Security Services of Boise Cascade Corporation and an International Security Coordinator for Procter & Gamble, with both domestic and international corporate security responsibilities. Williams has conducted significant research into fraud and related ethics issues and has written extensively on these subjects for Internal Auditor, Security Management Magazine and Security Journal. He twice received the Outstanding Contributor Award from Internal Auditing Magazine and the Institute of Internal Auditing, and is co-author of the book Fraud: Bringing Light to the Dark Side of Business. In addition, he previously served as the Managing Editor of the Protection of Assets Manual and Protection of Assets Bulletin. Williams has often been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Globe & Mail and Financial Times, among other publications. He also received the 2006 CSO Compass Award for visionary leadership in the security field by the Chief Security Officer Magazine. He was one of the original security leaders who developed The Alliance for Enterprise Security Risk Management (AESRM) in 2004, bringing together the International Systems Security Association, ASIS International and the International Security and Audit Association to develop collaborative research and processes regarding the securing of all aspects of enterprise security. Williams holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Cincinnati. He is a member of the Information Security and Audit Association and the Information Systems Security Association. He also serves on the Board of Directors of ASIS International. Williams resides in Peoria, Illinois. Michael J. Stack, ASIS Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer Michael J. Stack joined ASIS in 1993 with 10 years experience in the for-profit sector (Finance, HR, Operations) and more than 15 years of association management experience. As ASIS Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer, he plays an important role in the development of the agenda and strategic direction of the Society, serving as a spokesperson of the Society, expressing the concerns and issues relevant to the more than 36,000 members internationally. Stack supports the ASIS Board of Directors by providing the necessary research and continued analysis that is vital in making important decisions involving the development of future strategies and tactical directions for the Society, expanding or venturing into new programs and services, setting the direction for the ASIS legislative agenda and identification and implementation of strategic alliance partnerships.
