Security and Internet Abuse
The anonymity of the Internet
has become increasingly relevant for most organizations and a challenge to security
professionals. Trolls and flamers defaming management or releasing potentially
damaging inside information in chat rooms, creeps impersonating managers to
harass other employees or spread lies about them are becoming a persistent problem.
A panel of experts, moderated by Kevin Mitnick, the world's most famous former
hacker, examined this escalating challenge at the ASIS 2008 Security Insights
Program. Recorded at the 54th Annual Seminar in Atlanta, Georgia, on September
18, 2008.

Security's Role in Business Ethics and Compliance
Enron's
meteoric rise and even more meteoric collapse revealed a watchdog system that
failed. However, even back in the 1990s, more than 400 corporations had dramatically
restated their value after accounting lapses, failures, or fraud. Where was
security while all of this was happening? Congressman Michael G. Oxley, co-sponsor
of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, facilitates a knowledgeable panel of experts during
the ASIS International Seminar and Exhibits in Las Vegas, NV in 2007. During
this recorded session, they explore ethics and business compliance and discuss
the added value security professionals can bring to corporate compliance and
governance structures. Recorded at the 53rd Annual Seminar in Las Vegas,
Nevada, on September 27, 2007.
